Lupus treatment discussion

Several years ago, my wife DJ developed sores on many parts of her body. It all seemed to start with 'jiggers' from a camping trip. Anyway, she used the 'jigger' ointments to no or little avail. DJ went to 4, count them 4, dermatologists. All of them were indecisive and noncommittal. Basically all they had to say was use steroidal creams and/or take steroids orally. Gee thanks for that with all the comments in the news about the side effects from steroids.

The title of this hub mentions Lupus. With very few positive results from creams and medicine for the lesions, DJ went to her GP and asked him to find out what disease was causing all these skin problems and joint pain. Some of the tests indicated lupus, some did not. That's the confusion part. We still do not know for certain if DJ had Lupus or not.

DJ is far and away the more knowledgeable of the two of us when it comes to nutrition and medical issues. I just know what works for me. Anyway, I had investigated glyconutrients because I liked their pitch. Help your body help itself. I am a great fan of natural methods and believe that our body has the ability to correct most health situations if giving the proper fuel and resources.

Before I say anything else, let me say this. I coined a phrase which relates to MLM companies in the health and well being market - the 'diabetes shuffle'. It goes like this - 'I have diabetes and I took ABC supplement, I no longer have diabetes. If you have diabetes, then take ABC and you will no longer have diabetes.' What hogwash. There are hundreds if not thousands of factors involved.

I wrote this hub to help people who have run into the same ineffective medical advice and treatment as DJ. If you have developed sores or lesions on your body and experience joint pain, then you MAY have something similar to what DJ experienced. If you would prefer to avoid steroid in treatment of this condition, then you may want to TRY what helped DJ.

You are not so stupid to believe that what worked for DJ will automatically work for you. I am not so evil as to ask you to believe it to make a few dollars selling a nutritional product.
